Since 2007 Hulu has been among the pioneers of television’s digital revolution, which continues to move at a rapid pace. As new technology provides consumers even more choice, Hulu and other streaming services continue to evolve their content strategies. In this episode, Hulu’s Head of Distribution, Tim Connolly and Schoen Media Group’s Lauri McGarrigan, Former SVP, Strategy and Operations for Disney and ESPN, have a candid conversation about the future of the pay-tv streaming landscape.


Tim Connolly

SVP, Head of Distribution and Partnerships, Hulu

Tim Connolly is the Senior Vice President, Head of Distribution and Partnerships for Hulu where he is responsible for driving subscriber and audience growth by working with partners. His team manages relationships with device manufacturers like Apple, Roku and Google, multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs) like Cablevision, and other industry players including American Express. Most recently, Connolly managed digital distribution and new product development for the Disney and ESPN TV networks. Prior to Disney and ESPN, Connolly served in various product management and business development roles at Ericsson working on mobile applications, networks and professional services. Connolly received an MBA and Masters of Public Policy from the University of Maryland, as well as BA from Wesleyan University.

Lauri McGarrigan

EVP, Schoen Media Group

Lauri McGarrigan has 20 years of experience in media specializing in strategy, operations and finance.  She has been with Schoen Media Group for 18 months where she has successfully integrated her strategic mindset into the agency.   Lauri was previously Senior Vice President, Business Strategy and Operations for Disney and ESPN Media Networks supporting over 70 products and services for both linear and digital networks.   She has been at the forefront of developing and executing strategies to maximize revenues and drive cost savings her entire career.    She began her career with Falcon Cable as Director of Operations and was VP Financial Operations for Affiliate and Ad Sales for Fox Family. Lauri has extensive experience in content distribution and has supported industry-leading deals including the launch of TV Everywhere.  She has worked on both the distribution and programming sides of the business and has a firm understanding of the Pay TV industry and the changing media landscape including OTT.
