What is the Promax Conference?

Promax is the world's leading annual entertainment marketing and design event, bringing together the top creative, brand, and strategic teams in media and entertainment to explore new strategies, network, and showcase the greatest campaigns in entertainment marketing.

What does the name Promax mean?

It's a loose acronym for Promotion marketing executives.

Who can attend Promax 2020?

Anyone 18 or older with a valid 2020 Promax membership is welcome to attend the conference. To join Promax as a new member or renew your existing membership, please visit our membership page or contact membership@promax.org.

When is Promax 2020?

Promax 2020 will take place from June 16-18, 2020.

What about the global impact of the coronavirus? Is Promax 2020 still happening?

The Promax 2020 Conference is still going forward as scheduled. We remain steadfast that the health and safety of all our members, attendees and staff is paramount. In that regard Promax is following the up-to-the-moment local, national and World Health Organization guidelines, and we will provide updates regarding COVID-19 that may have an impact on the Conference and Summit. With more information being released daily, we are continually monitoring and will update this page and our membership as appropriate.

When and where can I pick up my Promax 2020 conference badge?

Badges may be picked up at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE, at the Promax registration desk, located on the 3rd Floor. The easiest way to access the 3rd Floor is via the escalator located along the West wall of the lobby. If you enter the hotel from the Olympic Boulevard entrance, the elevator is to the right of the check-in desk. If you enter from the L.A. LIVE entrance, walk past the Glance Lobby Bar, turn left at the check-in desk, and the escalator will be on your left before you reach the concierge desk.

Badge pick-up and the Promax registration desk are open during the following times:

How can I purchase a conference pass?

You can purchase conference passes via the 2020 Promax Conference page on our website. A valid 2020 Promax membership is required to attend the conference. Please contact membership@promax.org for more information on joining Promax or renewing your membership.

Can I order my pass now and pay for it later?

Yes, you may purchase your conference pass via invoice. You will be able to attend the conference provided that you pay your invoice prior to arriving at the conference. Promax reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who has an outstanding balance on a conference invoice.

Can I buy a pass now and choose the name of the person who will use it later?

We require that all passes be attributed to an attendee at the time of purchase. If you would like to purchase a pass but have not yet determined who will use it, please contact Aurelio Farrell at aurelio@promax.org or Anush Payaslyan at anush@promax.org for further assistance.

Can I transfer my pass to another person?

How can I get a letter of invitation for a visa?

Please refer to the Attendee policies.

Are there any discounts for groups?

Yes, please contact registration@promax.org for more information about group discounts.To qualify for discount pricing all registration must be submitted at the time of submission.

When is the latest I can purchase passes online?

Online registration for Promax 2020 ends on June 04, 2020. Persons wishing to purchase conference passes after June 4, 2020, must do so at the venue. Please see Promax staff at the 3rd Floor registration desk of the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE.

How can I pay for Promax 2020?

All registration fees for Promax 2020 are in USD $. The following forms of payment accepted: a valid major credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa). We also accept payment via invoice. All fees must be received prior to the event or paid onsite before a badge will be issued. Please contact registration@promax.org for more information.

Will I receive confirmation of my conference registration?

Yes, after you register online, you will receive an automated email confirming your registration. If you don't receive your confirmation email, please contact registration@promax.org so we can send you another confirmation email.

If I cannot attend Promax 2020, will you refund my conference fee?

Please refer to the Attendee policies.

Do you offer any hotel discounts for Promax 2020 attendees?

Yes, we have secured exclusive Promax rates for attendees at our host hotels, the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE and the Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles. Please reserve your room before Monday, May 22, 2020 by visiting the hotel website.

Does the registration fee include air transportation and hotel accommodations?

All costs for travel, including air transportation, ground transfers, hotel accommodations, and incidentals are the responsibility of the attendee.

Do you provide meals or food at Promax 2020?

Light refreshments, coffee, tea, and water are available during the networking breaks on June 17 and June 18.

Can I suggest a speaker for the conference?

We are no longer accepting submissions for speakers at Promax 2020. Please contact our Director of Conference Content Curation, Laura Danford Mandel, at laura.mandel@promax.org to discuss future Promax speaker and session opportunities.

Will the sessions be live-streamed from the event?

We do not plan to live stream sessions from Promax 2020, however, video of all main stage sessions will be available to stream on-demand following the conference. All other sessions will be available to stream via audio. Please allow 10 days for the conference staff to finish processing and uploading all of the conference sessions once Promax 2020 is complete.

When will the speaker schedule be published?

I'm interested in volunteering at Promax 2020, how can I apply?

We do not currently offer any volunteer opportunities at Promax 2020.

How do I become a sponsor and exhibit at Promax 2020?

Can I purchase a guest pass to the evening social events?

No, we do not offer guest social passes at Promax 2020. All social and networking events require a conference badge for admittance.

How do I receive a copy of a photo taken at Promax 2020?

Please visit promax.smugmug.com after the conference has ended. You may download any photos you find on our Smugmug.com site free of charge. Please allow at least 3 business days after the conclusion of the conference for the photos to be posted.

I won a Promax Award! How do I order a statue?

What if I lose my badge onsite?

What is Promax’s overall policy on accessibility?

Promax welcomes the participation of individuals with disabilities and will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodations to enable equitable participation at Promax 2020.

How can I request accessibility accommodations and/or services at Promax 2020?

You can request accessibility accommodations and services when registering for Promax 2020 by indicating that you have accessibility requirements or by contacting membership@promax.org. A representative will call you to discuss your needs to make sure your experience on-site is enjoyable.

What if I lose a personal item onsite?

Please see Promax staff at the registration desk on the 3rd Floor of the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE for assistance with a lost item. Please note that the Promax staff does not retain any lost personal items that are left at the time the conference ends on June 18, 2020. Promax staff will not be able to ship any lost items to you after the end of the event. Please contact the JW Marriott at L.A. I am a member of the press? May I apply for a press pass?

Promax invites working journalists representing accredited media outlets to apply for credentials to cover our conferences. Qualifications of all media outlets will be determined by Promax, and the association reserves the right to revoke credentials at any time. Press credentials do not guarantee admission to all sessions, programs, events, and parties associated with a conference.

Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity will not qualify for a press credential including: Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Publishers, Managers, Marketing, PR, Sales, and Senior Level Managerial staff.

Employees of creative agencies engaged in blogging to promote their company’s work, clients, and activities will not qualify for a press credential.

Publicists and personal representatives of confirmed speakers at a Promax conference should speak with their contact on the Speaker Management Team to discuss admission to the conference.

To apply for a press credential: please email promax@lippingroup.com with the following:

  • A bylined entertainment marketing and design-related article from your publication written by you and published within the past three months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline).
  • Freelance journalists: please also send a letter from your editor on publication letterhead stating that you will be attending a Promax conference on assignment.

Does Promax have a code of conduct for the event?

Yes, you can find the code of conduct with our Attendee policies.

What is the Promax photo and video policy for conferences?

Notice of Filming and Photography Promax International/BPME sometimes d.b.a. Promax, PromaxBDA, or Promax/BDA (“Promax”) reserves the right to broadcast and transmit recorded content via TV, satellite, cable, internet, and any other means of distribution. Promax also reserves the right to capture photographic images and video footage during the conference and all associated events and use them for promotional purposes. By entering the conference venues, including the main session site, and all official party and networking sites, you agree to be filmed, photographed and recorded. You also agree that all material captured by Promax may be used by Promax and its partners for promotional purposes, worldwide, without any further consent, and without any compensation.
