KEYNOTE: State of Our Art
This perennial favorite of The Conference is a true celebration of the best of the best in promotional content creation. As our world seemingly becomes more divided and fractured than ever, one global constant connects us -- our art. Art inspires us. Art entertains us. Art can move us to tears, to laughter and to act. This year, we circle the globe and look at the video content on TV and online that is inspiring action and change. This is the State of Our Art.

Lessons to Lead By: Valari Staab
Valari Staab is President of NBCUniversal Owned Television stations, a division of NBCUniversal that includes 30 local NBC and Telemundo owned stations, a regional news network and two national multicast networks, COZI TV and TeleXitos. Since she joined NBCUniversal in 2011 as President of NBCUniversal’s local stations division, Staab has strategically used NBCUniversal’s investment in its stations to spearhead efforts that have helped to reinvigorate NBC and Telemundo station newsrooms all across the U.S. and in Puerto Rico. Under her leadership, the stations have experienced a complete transformation and have unveiled first-of-its kind weather technology to help viewers stay ahead of severe weather threats, expanded or launched investigative and consumer units that are shedding a light on questionable practices and affecting positive changes in local communities, as well as expanded local news programming and debuted digital products to help audiences stay informed on-the-go. Staab launched her career in broadcasting as a college student. She worked in marketing and research for KLTV in Tyler and then KPRC in Houston, Texas. Before joining NBCUniversal, Staab primarily was with the ABC Owned Television Stations for 23 years, where she ran research; creative services and served as President and General Manager of three stations. In “Lessons to Lead By,” Staab will share advice that has helped her manage her career, achieve business goals and craft her own leadership style.
